Lonitab is a medication that contains Minoxidil, primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and hair loss. It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, reducing peripheral vascular resistance, and increasing blood flow to hair follicles.

Uses:

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Treatment of hair loss (alopecia)
• Enhancing blood flow to hair follicles to promote hair growth

Dosage:

• The dosage of Lonitab varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual’s response to the medication.
• For high blood pressure, the typical starting dose is 5 mg per day, which can be increased to 10-20 mg per day if necessary.
• For hair loss, the typical dose is 2-5% solution applied to the scalp twice a day.

Side Effects:

Precautions and Contraindications:

• Lonitab is not recommended for use in children under the age of 18 and elderly people above the age of 65 unless prescribed by a doctor.
• It may not be suitable for individuals with scalp psoriasis or those taking certain medications, such as erectile dysfunction medications.
• Lonitab should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women.
